If you are visiting the city of Buenos Aires during February you can enjoy celebrate carnival in the different districts of the city. BA carnivals are recognized as one of the most important carnivals in the country by its infrastructure and organization and during this 2017 more than 100 street musicians will be presented in the 29 corsos organized in the various districts.
The festivities and carnivals began last February 4 and will be extended for the following weekends until February 28, including the 27 and 28 February.
The Corsos with parade and colorful murgas will be presented in different avenues of Buenos Aires in the districts of Almagro, Balvanera, Barracas, Bajo Flores, Boedo, Coghlan, Liniers, La Boca, Lugano, Mataderos, Palermo, Paternal, Pompeya, Saavedra, San Telmo, Villa Crespo, Villa Pueyrredón and Villa Urquiza.
The murgas of the carnivals of Buenos Aires were declared Heritage Cultural of the city of Buenos Aires in 1997. The Buenos Aires murgas are distinguished from others by the use of their traditional instrument as the bass drum with cymbal and the different rhythms that distinguish each neighborhood with a variety of lyrics and songs that combine the joy with the social criticism, color and parades.
