Puerto Madryn is the “National Capital of Diving and underwater activities”. This title responds to two reasons according to Carolina larracoechea, owner operator Scuba Duba and Secretary of the Association of dive operators from Puerto Madryn: “On the one hand, it is a Gulf of clear water, no underwater currents, with little waves and depths ranging from 4 to 35 meters. In addition, sea temperatures oscillate between 10 and 21 degrees, which allows the development of a great diversity of species”. “On the other hand, Madryn first was known as a diving destination, before even that as a destination of whale watching.” The promoter of this activity was Jules Rossi, a diver who worked with Jacques Cousteau, fell in love with these shores and decided to move to Argentina, installing among local young people curious about on seabed”.
